5 easy step in creating reflection effect using photoshop

Hello guys, It's been a year since my last hub about Photoshop basic... Here's a new simple tutorial an "easy tutorial" on how to make a reflection effect in photoshop... Reflection effect is commonly used in designing, so I think you should learn this one... Stay relax and use your imagination...

This is a basic tutorial so, for those Photoshop beginners this one is for you... It's a 5 easy steps... Let's do it...

Be sure you prepare your text or image to be used...

STEP 1

Put your designs on a canvas... mostly it is nice on black background with a little gradient designs... you can use other color, it's all up to you...

* I used Berlin Sans Font in this one... you can use any font depends on you, or you can download fonts, just google it...

STEP 2

Once your design is placed, probably it is placed on a layer... Duplicate it by hitting CTRL+J, you have now 2 layers of your design...

* you can use Right Click on Layer then Duplicate Layer...

you'll end up having 3 layers...

STEP 3

Select the duplicate copy by clicking on it on the layer window, then use Move tool.
Using Move tool, click the "edge" of the text, then drag it down to make it flip vertically... refer to image...Press enter after you flip it, to apply the changes...

Step 4

Now, that u create a flip vertical of your design... Let's make it a reflection...
Hit the "Add layer Mask" refer to A. This will create a mask layer as shown on B, click on it.

STEP 5

Now, this is the last step, this will create the reflection effect... Change the foreground color to black by pressing "D" on keyboard...
then select the Gradient tool.

This will be the tricky part, hehe... make a gradient starting from the bottom of the inverted text then drag to up as shown on image...

* notice that on layer window, will create a gradient on the layer mask...
